International Yoga Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Prince School
Selu, June 21, 2025: The International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and a devotional atmosphere at LKR Roadge Prince English School, operated by Shriram Pratishthan, Selu, in collaboration with Art of Living, Selu. The event witnessed spirited participation from students, parents, teachers, and local dignitaries. The program highlighted the significance of yoga and its role in daily life.
The event commenced at 7:00 AM in the school courtyard. Kishor Ghade, a yoga instructor from Art of Living, delivered the introductory speech, emphasizing the ancient Indian tradition of yoga. He stated, “Yoga is not merely a physical exercise but an art of balancing the mind, body, and soul. International Yoga Day is a global celebration of India’s priceless heritage.”
The chief guest, Honorable Suresh Bhumre, BJP District President, Parbhani, graced the occasion. In his insightful speech, he shared the history of Yoga Day, noting, “In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the concept of Yoga Day at the United Nations, and June 21 was declared as International Yoga Day.” He further added, “Yoga improves physical and mental health, reduces stress, and brings positivity to life.” He urged the students and parents present to incorporate yoga into their daily routines.
The program was chaired by Dr. Sanjay Rodge, Founder President of Shriram Pratishthan. In his inspiring address, he underscored the importance of yoga, saying, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself practices yoga daily. Yoga is a continuous discipline that requires dedication and ethics. Everyone should practice yoga asanas and pranayama for at least 15 to 20 minutes daily. This not only keeps us physically fit but also brings mental peace.” He advised students to use yoga to enhance their confidence and concentration.
The highlight of the event was the yoga training session conducted by Bhaskar Magar, a yoga instructor from Art of Living. He provided in-depth guidance on yoga practices such as Kapalbhati, Sudarshan Kriya, Anulom-Vilom, and Bhramari Pranayama. Explaining the benefits of each practice in simple terms, he said, “Kapalbhati strengthens the lungs and improves blood circulation, while Sudarshan Kriya is highly effective for a stress-free life.” Students and teachers participated enthusiastically in the session, practicing the yoga asanas hands-on.
The event was attended by Dr. Savita Rodge, Secretary of Shriram Pratishthan, along with notable dignitaries including Ganesh Katkar (BJP Taluka President, Selu), Ashok Shelar (BJP City President, Selu), Rupalitai Thakur (City President), Sandhya Chitnis (District Vice-President), Vanitatai Chaphekar (Taluka President), Mangaltai Musale, Mauli Tathe, Renuka Deshmukh, Akash Lohat, Shivhari Shewale, Dr. Rituraj Sadegavkar, Manjusha Kulkarni, and other esteemed guests. Administrative officer Prof. Mahadev Sable, principals, teachers, students, and parents from all constituent institutions of Shriram Pratishthan were also present in large numbers. Over 1,000 people participated in the event at the school premises, with the students’ enthusiasm and discipline in performing yoga asanas captivating everyone’s attention.
In the concluding remarks, the school principal expressed gratitude to all attendees. Special thanks were extended to the Art of Living yoga instructors for their guidance, which made the event a success. The principal also appreciated the efforts of Shriram Pratishthan’s office bearers and participating students. “Celebrating Yoga Day every year at our school is a matter of pride. It not only introduces our students to yoga but also lays the foundation for a healthy lifestyle,” the principal noted. The event was compered by Digambar Take, Shri Sandeep Akat, and Smt. Kalpana Bhabat.
The program effectively conveyed the importance of yoga and inspired attendees to adopt it in their daily lives. It particularly raised awareness among students about the benefits of yoga. Through this successful initiative, Shriram Pratishthan has set a benchmark in the social and educational domains.
