ЁЯЪА GSLV-F16/NISAR Launch – Witness a Historic First in Space! ЁЯМН

On July 30, 2025, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are set to make history with the launch of the NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite aboard GSLV-F16. This landmark joint mission will monitor Earth’s natural processes with unmatched precision — and marks a major first for India’s GSLV program.

ЁЯМЯ What Makes This Launch Special?

GSLV-F16 is the first-ever GSLV mission to be launched into a Sun-Synchronous Polar Orbit (SSPO) — a type of orbit typically used for Earth observation satellites.
Until now, GSLV rockets have mainly been used to place satellites into geosynchronous orbits, but this mission showcases GSLV's expanded capabilities and versatility.

ЁЯФм About NISAR

NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar) is the world’s first dual-frequency radar imaging satellite using both L-band (NASA) and S-band (ISRO) radars. It will:

Scan the entire globe every 12 days

Capture high-resolution data on Earth’s surface

Help scientists track ground shifts, vegetation changes, ice melt, and more
