Prioritizing Skill-Based Education: Dr. Sanjay Rodge Leads Successful Parent-Teacher Meeting at Prince English School.
Selu, July 26, 2025: The first Parent-Teacher Meeting
of the academic year 2025-26 was successfully held on Saturday, July 26, 2025,
at Shriram Pratishthan’s L. K. R. Rodge Prince English School, Selu. The
meeting was chaired by Dr. Sanjay Rodge, Founder Chairman of Shriram
Pratishthan, Selu, and saw a large turnout of parents.
Dr. Sanjay Rodge’s Address:
Addressing the gathering, Dr.
Sanjay Rodge emphasized that the school has adopted a skill-based curriculum in
line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. To support this, a Composite
Skill Lab has been established to equip students with practical and
job-oriented skills. He further highlighted that the school assesses students’
holistic development through the Holistic Progress Card, incorporating various
activities to foster intellectual and social growth. The Joyful Saturday initiative
includes engaging subject-specific activities, while Foundation Classes have
been introduced for students of Classes 6 to 10.
Announcement of Curiosity Science Centre:
Dr. Rodge announced that a new
Curiosity Science Centre will soon be established on the school premises in
collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission and Nehru
Science Centre, Mumbai. This centre will play a pivotal role in connecting
students with scientific thinking and technology.
Guidance on Composite Skill Lab:
Prof. Ashok Bodkhe, Principal of
Apurva Polytechnic, provided detailed insights into the functioning of the
Skill Lab, explaining how students will be trained in practical skills related
to appliances such as water heaters, irons, washing machines, ceiling fans, and
geysers. A display of the lab’s equipment was showcased to parents.
Additionally, faculty members from Apurva Polytechnic, Prof. Gajanan Jadhav,
Prof. Shyam Wagh, and Prof. Pradeep Lahane, elaborated on the operational aspects
and benefits of the Skill Lab.
Parents were informed about the
school’s annual plan, which includes academic activities, co-curricular
programs, crash courses, practice exams, and environmental initiatives. At the
conclusion of the meeting, the school’s faculty and administrative staff
addressed parents’ questions and concerns.
The meeting was effectively conducted
by Mrs. Kalpana Bhabat. In attendance were the school’s Secretary Dr. Savita
Rodge, Administrative Officer Prof. Mahadev Sable, Principal Kartik Ratnala, Pragati Kshirsagar, and other faculty members.
The large parental presence contributed to the meeting’s success.
The Parent-Teacher Meeting
effectively communicated the school’s innovative initiatives focused on
skill-based education and holistic student development. Under Dr. Sanjay
Rodge’s guidance, Prince English School is establishing a skill-centric approach
in education, as evidenced by the proceedings of this meeting.
