Pooja Wayal, a Class 9 Student from Prince English School, Soars High with Her 2,000-Foot Rocket.

Selu: In an inspiring display of innovation, Pooja Mukteshwar Wayal, a 9th-grade student from Prince English School, has created a remarkable rocket that reaches 2,000 feet. Using the concept of transforming waste into treasure, Pooja built the rocket with materials like sugar, potassium nitrate, cardboard, and plastic. Notably, the rocket returns safely to the ground with a parachute, making her experiment a success.

Powered by just 18 grams of sugar, the rocket launches in three seconds. Initially costing ₹10,000 to build, Pooja optimized the design to reduce both weight and cost, bringing it down to ₹1,000 per rocket. She has crafted 22 rockets so far, each taking two to three days to complete, with support from her younger brother, Mahesh Wayal.
Her achievement was celebrated by Dr. Sanjay Rodge, Founder and President of Shriram Pratishthan, and Parbhani BJP President Suresh Bhumre, who felicitated Pooja in the presence of dignitaries, applauding her creativity and determination.
Pooja’s journey at Prince English School showcases how passion and ingenuity can inspire young minds to reach for the stars!
